Jerry Reuss spent four seasons with the Pittsburgh Pirates, from 1974 to 1978. He was a key member of the Pirates' pitching staff during that time, and he helped the team reach the World Series in 1975.


Reuss was a left-handed pitcher with a fastball and a curveball. He was known for his control and his ability to pitch deep into games. He was also a very durable pitcher, and he missed only one start in his four seasons with the Pirates.


Reuss had a number of memorable moments during his time with the Pirates. In 1975, he pitched a complete game victory in Game 2 of the World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. He also pitched a shutout against the San Francisco Giants in the 1978 NLCS.


Reuss finished his career with the Pirates with a record of 54-38, a 3.23 ERA, and 524 strikeouts. He was also a two-time All-Star.
