The 1831 Capped Bust Dime is a United States silver coin that was minted from 1828 to 1837. It is also known as the Small Dentil Capped Bust Dime because the denticles (teeth) around the edge of the coin are smaller than those on the previous Capped Bust Dimes.

The obverse of the coin features a bust of Liberty facing left, with her hair tied in a bun and secured by a headband inscribed LIBERTY. Seven stars are to the left of her head and six are to the right. The date 1831 is below her bust.

The reverse of the coin features an eagle perched on a rock, with its wings spread. In its beak, the eagle holds a bundle of arrows, and in its talons, it holds an olive branch. E PLURIBUS UNUM is inscribed on a scroll above the eagle, and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA TEN CENTS is inscribed around the border.

The 1831 Capped Bust Dime is made of 90% silver and 10% copper. It has a diameter of 18.5 millimeters and a weight of 2.49 grams.
